Utilising the colour palette of her experience as a make-up artist , Anne’s work is only predictable in its unpredictability.

Monochromatic charcoals give sombre thought beside her vivacious oils, a reflection of her involvement in the fashion industry, where themes evolve and just as quickly are abandoned.

The contemporary Irish artist finds herself part of a new generation of artists who find vision through the persistent practice of painting, free of avant-garde issues that in the past fuelled passions not only about painting but about much that was not painting.

Currently Anne is drawn by the emotional intrigue and virtue in the taciturn, subtle facial  expressions captured momentarily, a journal of every day emotions – melancholy, anxiety and hope. Often involving constructed relief paintings with various degrees of figurative and non figurative imagery, the common denominator in all this has been Anne’s devotion to the qualities of colour.
